At its annual meeting in the spring, Equity/EDN, a nationwide marketing organization comprised of more than 900 independent electrical distributors, presented awards to its distributor and manufacturer members.
Vendor awards, which measure overall supplier performance and distributor satisfaction, were divided into five separate categories. Winners were:
Merchandise Award: Fluke Corp., Everett, Wash.; and NSI Industries, Huntersville, N.C.
New Product Award: Arlington Industries, Scranton, Pa.; and Pass & Seymour/Legrand, Syracuse, N.Y.
Administration Award: Encore Wire, McKinney, Texas; and Ideal Industries, Sycamore, Ill.
Delivery Award: Osram Sylvania, Danvers, Mass.; and Southwire/Senator Wire, Carrollton, Ga.
Marketing Award: Pass & Seymour/Legrand, Syracuse, N.Y.; and RAB Lighting, Northvale, N.J.
In addition, Equity/EDN distributor members were recognized for their outstanding contributions to the organization in terms of sales growth and vendor support. Those who were awarded the “Circle of Excellence” demonstrated the highest overall sales growth through Equity/EDN, along with supporting the greatest number of Equity/EDN Associated Suppliers.
Circle of Excellence honorees were Allsale Electric Supply, Canoga Park, Calif.; Electrical Sales, Vista, Calif.; Gilkey Electric Supply, Hattiesburg, Miss.; Holder Electric Supply, Greenville, S.C.; NEO Electrical Supply, Chardon, Ohio; Odyssey Group, Bristol, Ind.; Sesco Electric Supply, Duncan, Okla.; and Williams Wholesale Supply, Cookeville, Tenn.
Equity/EDN also recognized two individuals for their contributions to the electrical industry. Ed Lenahan, vice president of sales and marketing at Encore Wire, McKinney, Texas, earned Equity/EDN's Lifetime Achievement Award. Rudy Thiel, sales representative for DSI Southwest, an independent manufacturers' rep firm based in Dallas, earned the Sales Champion Award.
