Garvin Industries, Franklin Park, Ill., recently held its annual Oktoberfest Open House in celebration of 116 years as a manufacturer of electrical, datacom and telecom installation hardware.

More than 500 attendees, including electrical and low-voltage distributors, contractors and electrical inspectors, got to view the company's latest products, including a preview of new lines to be added in 2008, such as split-collar grounding bushings and a new pre-fabrication division. “Garvin Industries is excited to showcase all of our new products” says Bart Garvin, president of Garvin Industries. “A lot of people only know us as the box and cover guys.”

The event featured giveaways throughout the evening, including plasma televisions, skybox tickets for Chicago Bulls and Chicago Blackhawks games and sports memorabilia, including a autographed picture of Mickey Mantle. Garvin Industries raised over $550 at the event for a local children's charity, Hephzibah House, an organization that provides shelter and support for abused and neglected children.
