Standard Electric, SE Automation Grow in Western Wisconsin

Standard Electric Supply Co. and its SE Automation subsidiary, both based in Milwaukee, continue to grow with the opening of a joint western Wisconsin location in Eau Claire.

SE Automation was founded in 2004 with a focus on Siemens automation products and enhanced technical support.

“When we opened in 2004, SE Automation consisted of two application engineers. Now, in 2007 our staff has grown to nine people, including four application engineers, two account managers and three customer service specialists,” says Mike Ubl, general manager of SE Automation. The hiring of many new associates, along with the opening of the Eau Claire office, reinforces SE Automation's presence in Wisconsin and their commitment to unparalleled customer service, he adds.

The new facility will be a combined effort for Standard Electric Supply Co. and SE Automation to offer a range of complementary industrial products. “This office will focus on Siemens control, automation, and drive products. In addition, through Standard Electric Supply Co., the location will also stock complementary products from companies such as Rittal Enclosures, Hubbell Wiring Devices, Red Lion, Woodhead, Thomas & Betts and several others,” says Larry Stern, president of both companies.

Standard Electric Supply Co., combined with SE Automation is a family-owned electrical distributor founded in 1919 with 11 locations serving Wisconsin, Illinois and northwest Indiana. It currently has over 130 employees and $60 million in sales.

Omni Cable's Denver Branch Moves Into a New, Expansive Building

Omni Cable's Denver branch has moved just around the corner, into a bigger facility. The 35,000-square-foot operation is now home to the account managers who serve the company's Rocky Mountain region, as well as an expanded inventory of wire and cable.

“The growth at our Denver branch is the result of unmatched service levels with our electrical distributor partners. We will continue to increase our inventories to service our customers who continue to rely on our just-in-time inventories for specialty wire and cable all over the Rocky Mountain region,” says Peter Comber, executive V.P. of sales and marketing.

“The upgrade of our facility has significantly increased both our inventory and value-added service capacity to the electrical distributor,” adds Adam DiCola, Omni's Denver branch manager.

Omni Cable is a master distributor of specialty wire and cable sold exclusively through electrical and electronic distribution. Other stocking locations include Philadelphia, Atlanta, Boston, Los Angeles, Chicago, Houston, San Francisco, St. Louis and Tampa, Fla.
