The Madison Electric Co., Warren, Mich., and Cooper Bussmann held a promotion from January to March offering customers a chance to win tickets to every 2007 regular season home game of the American League Champion Detroit Tigers.
Customers were entered in the contest for every $250 in Cooper Bussmann purchases. Joseph Schneider, president of Madison Electric Co., drew the winning ticket from more than 600 entries at the end of March. Tim Dotzenroth from Con-Syst-Int won the prize.
The promotion certainly did the trick for fuse sales. With sales down in many areas throughout the Detroit metro area, Cooper Bussmann sales at Madison Electric increased 31 percent over the same period in 2006. The effects lasted even after a winner was selected, as the companies saw a residual increase of 22 percent in April sales, compared to April 2006.
Ron Fesl from Cooper Bussmann and Joseph Schneider from Madison Electric Co. delivered Tim the tickets on Friday, March 30, in time for Opening Day.
