Lighting manufacturer Bulbrite Industries, Moonachie, N.J., was honored with the 2015 New Jersey Family Business of the Year Award at the 23rd Annual Award Luncheon in October at the Crystal Plaza in Livingston, N.J.
The New Jersey Family Business of the Year Award program recognizes the significant contributions to the economy and community made by New Jersey family businesses whose innovative strategies and business practices have had a positive impact on the state and local economy and on society in general.
Bulbrite began in 1971 with Andrew Choi selling light bulbs door to door in the Bowery section of New York City after several years of experience in the lighting business. Since then, Andrew, his wife Barbara, their children Cathy, Dorothy and Eric and their uncle John, have worked to build Bulbrite Industries to be a leading manufacturer and supplier of innovative, energy-efficient light source solutions.
