General Cable Gains IDEA Platinum

Specification documents, attributes, images and descriptions all must be populated with product data for at least 75% of a manufacturer’s stock products to achieve the Platinum level.

General Cable, Highland Heights, Ky., joined IDEA’s Platinum Band, the top level of IDEA’s Band of Excellence Program, which recognizes manufacturers for providing exceptional marketing support to trading partners by providing rich product data to IDEA’s Industry Data Warehouse (IDW).  IDEA, Arlington, Va., owned by the National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) and the National Association of Electrical Distributors (NAED), is a technology service provider offering synchronized product data and EDI technology and support to electrical manufacturers and distributors.

The Bands of Excellence rating system measures each manufacturer’s completion percentage for providing robust product marketing content to distributors through the IDW. Specification documents, attributes, images and descriptions all must be populated with product data for at least 75% of a manufacturer’s stock products to achieve the Platinum level.
