Leviton Manufacturing, Little Neck, N.Y., announced the availability of its 2008 NEC Compliance Training and Sales Promotion program. Designed to help busy electrical professionals get a leg up on the recent changes to the NEC (National Electrical Code) that relate to wiring devices and telecommunication systems, the program includes versatile training options and an exciting promotion that builds distributor counter sales.

“Every three years, the NFPA (National Fire Prevention Association) issues new NEC requirements in a phonebook-sized manual that is over 800-pages long. Leviton simplifies the content and language, presents it in a straight-forward way through our legendary spokesperson ‘Captain Code’, and brings it to industry professionals in a pocket-size booklet that helps them comply with the latest Code changes,” says Tom Degnan, contractor channel development manager for Leviton.

Central to Leviton's 2008 Code Program is the company's Illustrated Guide to the 2008 NEC Code Changes. Leviton partnered with Mike Holt, the nationally recognized electrical expert and NEC guru, who again co-authored this year's version. The 76-page guide book explains in easy-to-understand terms key changes to the Code that affect wiring device and telecommunication system installations.

“Our 2008 Code Program also consists of an ez-Learn training module that is accessible from Leviton's website at www.leviton.com. Users can log on to the site anytime to access more information and knowledge,” Degnan adds.

Leviton offers its distributors an opportunity to participate in a sales promotion that raises awareness of the latest Code changes. The program includes displays stocked with Decora switches, Code-compliant tamper-resistant receptacles, SmartLockPRO GFCIs, energy-saving dimmers, Wetguard and Power Indication plugs and connectors and more. The displays are available in a two-tiered floor-standing version and three-tiered countertop model.
