North Coast Electric (NCE), Seattle, sent out notice that “The Big Blue Tool Machine” is on the road and causing quite a stir. Big Blue is NCE's newest marketing effort, a full-sized tool product demonstrator vehicle.

Piloted by NCE Associate Marc Dewey and sponsored by many of NCE's manufacturers, the 26-foot-long box truck is outfitted with demonstration tools and accessories. According to NCE, virtually everything an electrician could want or dream of is on board, including power and hand tools, pipe benders, wire pullers, cutting tools and much more. The ceiling has over 300 electrician's hand tools displayed, enough to complete any tradesman's tool bag.

The premise is to provide an opportunity for the end-user to see, feel and try the demonstration tools inside the vehicle, then place an order with the sponsoring NCE Service Center. Manufacturers of many of the tool products ride along in Big Blue to the various counter days, open houses and many joint calls, giving them access to NCE's end-user customers.
