Schneider Electric sponsored a recent edition of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition near the company's Peru, Ind., facility. As Benefactor Sponsor, Schneider Electric provided energy-efficient products, volunteer support from the local plant and a financial contribution to support the family receiving the custom-built home.

The build took place from Oct. 21 through Oct. 27 when the newly constructed house was revealed to the homeowners.

“Schneider Electric has a long-standing commitment to both community involvement and sustainable development,” said Amy Huntington, president, Schneider Electric USA. “This sponsorship enables our company and employees from our facility in Peru to positively impact the lives of local residents by supporting this family in need.”

Among the products Schneider donated to help reduce energy consumption and lower costs for the homeowner were Juno recessed LED downlights, Square D NQ load center and QO circuit breakers, and whole-house surge protection. The company's total donation came to approximately $40,000.

Employees from Schneider Electric's facility in Peru also volunteered on-site. The Peru facility, which manufactures panelboards for Schneider Electric, is a primary employer in the region.
