Hutch Johnson Moving On Up at Glen Dimplex
Glen Dimplex Group (Cambridge, Ontario): Hutch Johnson has taken on the dual-role as CEO of Cadet Manufacturing and interim CEP of Dimplex North America, effective Sept. 24. Glen Dimplex acquired Cadet Manufacturing last month.
Johnson, who has served as president of Cadet since 1998, brings more than 40 years of experience to his CEO roles with Glen Dimplex, including 18 years in the electric heat industry and 25 years in the electrical distribution channel. Johnson will report directly to Fergal Naughton, CEO of Glen Dimplex, an Irish company that’s said to be the world’s largest manufacturer of electrical heating. Dimplex North America manufactures electric fireplaces, media consoles, wall-mounts, electric heat, baseboards, and stoves.
Eddie Martin Now Chief Commercial Officer at GE Energy Connections
GE Energy Connections (Atlanta): Eddie Martin was appointed chief commercial officer for Industrial Solutions, holding global responsibility for sales and marketing across the Industrial Solutions portfolio. In this role, Martin will lead Industrial Solutions’ commercial team and drive contemporary excellence in delivering customer outcomes.
With 24 years of experience, Martin joins the GE Energy Connections team from GE Oil & Gas where he most recently served as global channels leader. Prior to this role, he served as the chief commercial officer for GE Oil & Gas’ Measurement and Controls. During his career with GE, Martin has held commercial leadership roles of increasing responsibility including chief marketing officer and general manager of commercial operations for the former GE Intelligent Platforms business and chief marketing officer for GE Appliances.
Martin holds a bachelor’s degree in managerial economics with a minor in mathematics from Union College in Schenectady, N.Y.
Brody Joins Lighting Science as Senior Director of Retail Sales
Lighting Science (West Warwick, R.I.): Jon Brody is now senior director of retail sales. Brody comes to Lighting Science following senior positions at consumer electronics leaders Binatone (a licensee of Motorola) and Jawbone. In his new role, Brody will assume responsibility for expanding the company’s retail channels nationwide. “We’re excited to bring on a high-caliber retail leader like Jon Brody to help Lighting Science find new markets for our truly differentiated consumer products, such as our HealthE lighting series and the recently released Durabulb.” said Ed Bednarcik, Lighting Science’s CEO.
Allen Henry Joins Omni Cable on West Coast

Christopher Dean Joins Buckles-Smith
Buckles-Smith Electric (San Jose, Calif.): Christopher Dean and Kevin Machi have joined the company’s sales management team. Dean has joined Buckles-Smith as territory manager for the North Bay and Machi is now territory manager for the East Bay. Prior to joining Buckles-Smith, Dean was branch manager for Grainger in San Francisco and the territory manager for both Osram Sylvania and Shat-R-Shield calling on Buckles-Smith.

Kevin Machi comes back to Buckles-Smith after a 10-year hiatus. During his time away he worked as an account manager and Rockwell Automation specialist for Royal San Leandro, and most recently as regional manager for Dialight.
Lowe Now VP of Product Management for LSI Lighting
LSI Industries Inc. (Cincinnati): Steven Lowe is now V.P. of product management for the LSI Lighting Solutions division. His responsibilities include product development, product marketing, brand management and corporate sponsorships. Lowe was previously marketing manager, senior value stream manager and marketing director at Eaton/Cooper Lighting, Acuity Brands and Atlanta Fixture & Sales Co., respectively. While at Acuity he managed a product portfolio of over $200 million within 26 unique product families. Additionally, at Eaton/Cooper Lighting, he managed their ambient global product development and worked directly with strategic Asian-Pacific partners on product development, supply chain and logistics initiatives. He has a BA in marketing from Auburn University and is working on his MBA from the University of West Georgia.
Hubbell's Rebecca McCall Appointed Vice Chair of NEMA Committee
Hubbell Lighting (Greenville, S.C.): Rebecca McCall has been appointed vice chair the Luminaire Section of the National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA). She is director, education and training for Hubbell Lighting’s Learning Solutions Center (LSC).
The Lighting Systems Division provides the organizational framework for manufacturers of lighting equipment to work together on projects that impact their industry and their businesses. One of the major outcomes of this cooperative effort is the establishment of technical standards and codes.
Cardenas Joins Nora Lighting's Customer Service Department
Nora Lighting (Commerce, Calif.): The company has expanded its customer service team with the appointment of Mary Cardenas as a customer service rep and the promotion of Andrew Rios to technical support associate. Cardenas will oversee customer relations for commercial accounts and showrooms in California, New Mexico and Nevada.
