Crabtree Society Publishes New Book on the History of Famous British Electrical Manufacturer

J.A. Crabtree & Co., one of Great Britain's older electrical manufacturers, is the subject of a recently published book. According to the Crabtree Society, the 252-page book's publisher, the switchgear manufacturer was founded in 1919 by John Ashworth Crabtree with four employees in Walsall, England, and within 10 years had more than 1,000 employees. The group says Crabtree was one of the first in the UK to introduce plastics into the manufacturing process. Today, the manufacturer is owned by Electrium, a company within the Siemens group. If you are interested in purchasing a copy of the book, contact the Crabtree Society through its website, www.thecrabtreesociety.co.uk.
