If you want to keep an eye on some of the latest thinking in the photovoltaics industry, visit the blog published by NanoSolar's CEO Martin Roscheisen at http://www.nanosolar.com/. The blog offers some fascinating insight into the radically new thinking behind NanoSolar's technology. The San Jose-based company has won accolades for its innovative thin-film solar panel, including the "Top Innovation of the Year Award" from Popular Science magazine. Backed by a bevy of blue-chip investors, Roscheisen plans to bring down the price of solar-generated electricity to $1-per-watt. NanoSolar has figured out how to print solar cells on thin sheets of aluminum with a printing press, eliminating much of the waste in traditional manufacturing processes used produce solar panels.
