New York Power Authority Upgrades Efficiency at JFK Airport

The New York Power Authority (NYPA), working in partnership with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, announced the completion of a $4 million energy efficiency project that will save the airport about $275,000 in annual energy costs.

The project included comprehensive energy-saving measures, undertaken at two facilities at the airport. The work began last year and included lighting upgrades, the installation of steam traps and insulation, and the re-roofing of 104,000 square-feet of a two-story office building and maintenance garage.
