Allied Wire & Cable purchases Alan Wire assets to expand mil-spec cable offerings

Feb. 28, 2014
Allied Wire & Cable said in a press release that Alan Wire was “a perfect match” for its ongoing efforts to expand its mil-spec inventory and meet customer demand for these parts. Allied increases its already extensive inventory of M27500, M22759, and NEMA Type E wire products, and adds a number of new oddball mil-spec constructions to its stock.

Allied Wire & Cable, Collegeville, Pa., has finalized the purchase of all Alan Wire inventory and machinery. Alan Wire, based in Irwindale, Calif., recently closed its doors after 27 years serving the military and aerospace markets. Known by many as the go-to source for rare mil-spec cable constructions, Allied Wire & Cable said in a press release that Alan Wire was “a perfect match” for its ongoing efforts to expand its mil-spec inventory and meet customer demand for these parts.

Allied Wire & Cable says it’s one of the largest mil-spec distributors in the country with a wide range of standard and hard-to-find military specification cables. With Alan Wire’s product, Allied increases its already extensive inventory of M27500, M22759, and NEMA Type E wire products, and adds a number of new oddball mil-spec constructions to its stock. The company also now stocks and distributes Judd Wire.

All wire and cable is being relocated from its previous location in California to Allied’s Collegeville headquarters. Nine full trailers of product are making the journey across the country.
