Fairmont Supply Co., Canonsburg, Pa., one of the distribution industry's first distributors to engineer integrated-supply contracts, signed agreements

Fairmont Supply Co., Canonsburg, Pa., one of the distribution industry's first distributors to engineer integrated-supply contracts, signed agreements with McJunkin Corp., Charleston, S.C.; Cameron & Barkley Co., Charleston, S.C.; and McJunkin-Cambar to sell certain assets associated with 18 industrial locations and store management sites. Fairmont Supply has a total of 36 facilities nationwide.

The sale includes sites in Wilmington, Del.; Niagara Falls, N.Y.; Circleville, Ohio; Charleston and Parkersburg, W.V.; Memphis, Nashville and Chattanooga, Tenn.; Houston, Beaumont and Victoria, Texas; Mobile, Ala.; and LaPlace, La. Fairmont originally set up these warehouses to service integrated-supply contracts for DuPont, beginning in 1984. Fairmont eventually began serving other customers from these locations.

"Fairmont Supply will continue to focus on our core competencies, with an emphasis on expanding our role in the mining and energy industries," said Chuck Whirlow, Fairmont's president. "We will also continue to serve other existing customers at sites not affected by this transaction."
