TF Cable Americas recently provided more than 100,000 feet of 2KV multi-conductor power cable for Chicago's 31st Street Harbor project in partnership with Chicago electrical distributor Evergreen Supply Co. and electrical contractor Aldridge Electric, based in Libertyville, Ill. Project procurement began in Q2 2010 with final shipments of cable completed in Q2 2011. Total value of the cable provided by TF Cable Americas exceeded $1 million dollars.

Aldridge Electric specified cable rated specifically for the rough conditions along the Chicago waterfront. These cables will provide fixed power to the dock facilities and are particularly well-suited to operate in mechanically abusive external environments withstanding the effects of continuous wave action. The 31st Street Harbor project included the construction of a 2,700-foot-long breakwater, approximately 1,000 new boat slips, a green roof parking garage and other parking improvements. It also created approximately four acres of new park space, including a playground, promenade, open lawn areas, terraced steps, and a harbor facility that includes a restaurant and community space.

TF Cable is a well-known supplier to marine facilities and municipal harbors throughout North America. It's a U.S. corporation and a wholly owned subsidiary of Tele-Fonika, a Polish cable manufacturer that's the fourth largest electrical cable manufacturer in Europe.
