Indoor Lighting Fixtures Recalled by Lithonia Due to Impact Hazard

Oct. 13, 2008
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), in cooperation with Lithonia Lighting, Conyers, Ga., announced a voluntary recall of Hi-Bay Indoor

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), in cooperation with Lithonia Lighting, Conyers, Ga., announced a voluntary recall of Hi-Bay Indoor High-Intensity Discharge (HID) lighting fixtures. The fixtures were sold from January 2007 through May 2008, and about 1,400 have been purchased. The fixture's glass reflector can separate from the fixture and fall, posing a risk of injury to people below the fixture, according to the CPSC. The recall was caused by one report of a glass reflector falling. No injuries were reported. The CPSC is advising consumers to inspect the fixtures immediately and take down any units with loose glass, then contact Lithonia Lighting to arrange for a free replacement.

For additional information, contact Lithonia Lighting at (800) 315-4963 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. ET Monday through Friday, or visit the firm's Web site at www.lithonia.com.
