Revere Electric Supply Co., Chicago, long a stalwart of the industrial electrical supply market, is adding new breadth to its offerings in the construction sector and in the Wisconsin geographic area. The fourth-generation, family-owned electrical distributor recently acquired BJ Electric Supply, Madison, Wis. BJ Electric has locations Madison, Janesville and Pewaukee, Wis.

“BJ Electric Supply operates with the same traditions, strengths and customer-centric values as the Revere organization,” said a Revere press release. BJ Electric’s history of family ownership and dedication to customer service aligns with Revere’s priorities over its 94-year history. BJ Electric concentrates on the construction marketplace, complementing the industrial market focus of Revere’s current organization.

“These market differences will give the company an opportunity to expand and leverage the core competencies of one another,” Revere said, and strategically positions the Revere organization to fully support the markets of southern Wisconsin, northern Illinois and central Illinois.

BJ Electric Supply was led by owner and president Keith Topp to the #184 ranking on the 2013 Electrical Wholesaling Top 200 annual listing of the largest distributors in North America.

Revere was started in 1919 by Fred Eiseman, Sr., and is still owned by the Eiseman family with Paul McCool as CEO and Tom Frary as president. Revere was ranked #72 on the 2013 Top 200 with 300 employees in six locations before the BJ Electric acquisition. The company historically has focused on MRO and OEM industrial markets as a Rockwell Automation distributor (it picked up the Allen-Bradley line in 1945, according to Revere’s website) with specialties in process industries, water and wastewater, food and beverage and packaging.
