Summit continues its Texas growth track.

Summit Electric Supply, based in Albuquerque, N.M., is continuing its expansion in the Texas electrical market, having acquired Central Electrical Supply in Bryan, Texas. In a release, Summit said Central's location will continue to operate as Central Electrical Supply, at least through a transitional period.

Summit and Central are both members of the buying/marketing group Imark Group.

“Central has served the electrical needs of Bryan and surrounding communities for decades and has the same customer service focus and commitment to providing solutions as Summit,” says Vic Jury Jr., Summit’s president and CEO. “With Summit’s additional systems and technical support capabilities, we’ll be able to offer more services to the Bryan/College Station market and give customers even more value.”

Summit now has locations in 24 U.S. markets, plus one in Dubai, UAE. The company ranked #24 on Electrical Wholesaling's Top 200 list in 2012.

Scott Cogan, who leads Summit's southwest region, said the move is an important one to Summit's growth in the region. “This is a great fit for Summit and our growing operations in Texas,” says Cogan. “Joining with Central gives us an opportunity to grow our level of service in east Texas and provide advanced solutions to the Bryan/College Station electrical communities.”
