Irby buys Divesco Boosting its coverage in the industrial market, Stuart C. Irby Co., Jackson, Miss., acquired Divesco Inc., Hot Springs, Ark., for an undisclosed amount. Divesco, an industrial-based company with 1998 sales of more than $12 million, brings three new branches into the Irby organization, in Hot Springs, Ark.; Texarkana, Texas; and Idabel, Okla. The purchase will also help Irby establish a stronger presence in the Southeast with the Allen-Bradley (A-B) line in parts of Oklahoma, Texas and Arkansas.

Divesco will operate as a branch of Irby, and planned to drop the Divesco name on May 1.
