ConEdison Solutions contract covers more than 90 Army facilities

The $56 million contract with the U.S. Army Reserve’s 99th Regional Support Command (RSC) will provide energy efficiency services and operations and maintenance support at 90 sites in 11 states.

ConEdison Solutions (CES), an energy services company (ESCO) based in Valhalla, N.Y., signed a $56 million contract with the U.S. Army Reserve’s 99th Regional Support Command (RSC) to provide energy efficiency services and operations and maintenance support at 90 sites in 11 states.

The contract is part of the U.S. Department of Energy’s Energy Savings Performance Contract (ESPC) program. Under this initiative private-sector ESCOs provide energy efficiency, renewable energy and water conservation services to federally owned buildings and facilities under performance contracts that pay them based on realized savings.

"Energy efficiency enables government agencies to devote more of their resources to their core mission,” said Jorge J. Lopez, president and CEO of ConEdison Solutions, in a press release. "We are proud that our company has been selected to help the Army function in a more energy-efficient environment. It is also important to remember that providers like ConEdison Solutions enable the federal government to meet its energy conservation goals without spending scarce dollars on facility upgrades.”
