Rumsey Electric Co., Conshohocken, Pa., has acquired Transmission Engineering Company (TECO), Hatfield, Pa. The acquisition of TECO complements Rumsey’s automation and motion control business and expands its product offering into power transmission and power train components.

According to information on TECO’s website, www.tecoinc.com, the 79-year-old company specializes in motion control and automation; power train components; in-house and field service repair and warranty work; employee and equipment safety equipment; and engineered solutions to manufacturing needs for a variety of industries. The services it provides end users in the Mid-Atlantic region include engineering (industrial, process, electrical, or mechanical) solutions, specialty products or parts, and emergency disaster recovery and repair solutions and safety audits. TECO’s line card includes manufacturers of PLCs, actuators and other automation controls, sensors, brakes, networking equipment, tools, gear boxes, motors, clutches, products for the fluid power and power transmission customers.

Rumsey Electric will operate TECO as an independent operating company for the foreseeable future. Rumsey is ranked #33 on Electrical Wholesaling’s 2015 Top Listing, with $232 million in annual sales, 287 employees and nine locations.
