Robert L. Brown, organizer of the Southern Independent Electrical Distributors (SIED) and founder of the Greater Atlanta Electrical League, passed away on June 17 after a brief illness. He leaves a daughter, Cindy Stackhouse and spouse, Hartley; three sons: Chandler and his spouse, Laura; Robert Jr. and spouse Dohna; and Clay Sewell and spouse, Carey; nine grandchildren; and a brother, Jack Brown. Brown was a retired Air Force lieutenant colonel. His obituary in the Atlanta Journal Constitution said he was “a war hero and a champion golfer with a love of friends and heart of gold,” with “the prettiest swing in golf.” Brown served in WWII in the Army Air Corps, later the Air Force in the Korean War, and spent the next 20 years in Washington D.C. and South America.
