Westinghouse Lighting Corp. (Philadelphia): Bringing more than 17 years experience in sales and marketing, George Mabin has been appointed director of business development for Westinghouse's light bulb initiative. Mabin's career includes 15 years with Philips Lighting Co., and, most recently, the position of vice president of sales and marketing at MaxLite. Additionally, Paul Rorer has been appointed new product manager of lamps and special projects. With more than 20 years experience in the lighting industry, Rorer has held managerial positions ranging from engineering to marketing with companies including North American Philips Lighting, Columbia Lighting, Thomas Lighting-Consumer Division and SLI Lighting.

Kirby Risk Electrical Supply (Lafayette, Ind.): Anji Rigg has been appointed branch manager for the new Decateur, Ill., location. Previously the manager of process quality and improvement, Rigg joined Kirby Risk in 1998. Damaris Whaley has been appointed branch manager for the Peoria, Ill., location. She began her career with the distributor in 1985. Most recently, she was branch manager in LaPorte, Ind. After 17 years with Kirby Risk, Brad Austin has been appointed branch manager of the Logansport, Ind., branch. Most recently, he was branch manager in Lafayette, Ind. Greg Leuck has been appointed branch manager for the Rensselaer, Ind., location. He started with the company in 1989 and was most recently the warehouse manager for Lafayette, Ind. Jennifer Swisher has accepted additional duties as branch manager for Lafayette, Ind. Chosen director of electric motor repair in 2000, Swisher will continue to oversee electric motor repair operations in Lafayette and Muncie, Ind. Bill Smith has been appointed branch manager for electric motor repair in Muncie, Ind. Most recently, Smith was production manager for this location. Brad Slack has been appointed manager-service products for the technical services group, which includes the technical support center, technical training and manufacturing services. Most recently, he was area manager for GMS products and services.

Knaack Manufacturing (Crystal Lake, Ill.): James Radous III has been appointed vice president, sales. With more than 20 years industry experience, Radous has held positions at Klein Tools, Wen Products Inc., The Chamberlain Group Inc. and Tribune Broadcasting.

Schaedler Yesco Distribution Inc. (Harrisburg, Pa.): James LaRocca has been appointed controller. His responsibilities will include managing the distributorship's finance and human resource functions. LaRocca's experience spans more than 20 years in the distribution industry.

Dominion Electric Supply (Arlington, Va.): With 10 years experience, Steve Beck joins the team at Dominion Electric as director of warehouse operations. Prior to joining Dominion, he worked as the distribution and inventory manager for Picoma Manufacturing.

Acuity Brands (Conyers, Ga.): After 15 years in the lighting industry, Jimalee Dakin has been appointed director of the Jim H. McClung Lighting Center. Dakin most recently served as senior market development manager for Gotham Downlighting. In its 12th year of operation, the lighting center was renamed in 2001 after the retirement of Jim McClung, who served as president of Lithonia Lighting for 24 years.

Georgia Underground & Supply Inc. (Forest Park, Ga.): Brenda Armbrust has been promoted to executive manger. The 16-year industry veteran joined the company in 1999. Randy Benhart has been named sales manager. He came to Georgia Underground in 2001 after 18 years with Condux International. Paul Posl joins the company in outside sales after 30 years with Ballantine Inc., where he was involved in sales and territory management.

Ultrawatt Energy Systems Inc. (Fort Meyers, Fla.): Yves Sahtoe has been appointed research and development manager. He brings 20 years of engineering and product management experience in the electronic industry.

Ericson Manufacturing (Willoughby, Ohio): Tom Mayer has been promoted to national sales manager, responsible for the company's North American sales and the regional sales managers. Mayer previously held the position of regional sales manager covering the eastern region of the United States.

Edson Electric Supply (Phoenix, Ariz.): Scott Liles has returned to Edson Electric Supply as executive vice president and general manager. Liles rejoins Edson Electric after serving as president of Powerhouse Sales, Atlanta. In other changes, Geoff Kay has been appointed vice president of sales, and Skip Lenfest was appointed vice president of operations.

ITT Industries, Cannon (Santa Ana, Calif.): Olivier Duperray has been promoted to senior vice president and chief operating office — worldwide. Previously, Duperray was president of global switch products business. Tim Ristoff was named vice president, Cannon, and president of switches. Most recently, he was president of ITT Industries' Jabsco business. Mike Kuschenbrod was promoted to vice president, Cannon, and general manager for the connector product lines and sites that serve the industrial, military/aerospace, commercial aviation and transportation markets worldwide. Darrell Wilk was promoted to vice president, Cannon, and worldwide director of sales for connectors and switches.

Leviton Manufacturing Co. (Little Neck, N.Y.): William “Bill” Marshall has been promoted to vice president of sales and marketing. Marshall, who had served as corporate vice president of marketing and product management, assumes the additional responsibility for leading the strategic direction of the company's sales operations.

Maverick Tube Corp. (St. Louis, Mo.): William J. Curley has been appointed vice president sales and marketing, Republic Conduit.

Cooper Industries Ltd. (Houston): The company has reduced the size of its board of directors to 11 members. Lee Scott, president and chief executive officer of Wal-Mart, stepped down from Cooper's board of directors effective April 1 to have more time to devote to his responsibilities as an executive of Wal-Mart.

JJI Lighting Group (Franklin Park, Ill.): Gedra Mereckis has been appointed vice president-brand manager for Alkco Lighting Co. Mereckis joined Alkco Lighting in 1999 as director of sales and marketing. Tim Shaffer has been promoted to national sales manager of ALLscape, Santa Ana, Calif., from customer service manger. He joined ALLscape in 1993. Jacqueline Brignola has been appointed eastern regional sales manager for LAM Lighting Systems Inc., Santa Ana, Calif. Brignola brings more than 13 years of specification-grade lighting experience to LAM. Most recently, she was northeast regional sales manager for Prisma Architectural Lighting. ALLscape, LAM and Alkco are divisions of JJI Lighting Group.

Michigan Chandelier Co. (Southfield, Mich.): Ken Sanders has been named president. He succeeds Edward Berne, who had been president of this family-owned business for 20 years. Berne will become chairman of the board. Sanders is the first nonfamily member to head the company.

MGE UPS Systems Inc. (Costa Mesa, Calif.): Ray Prince has been named president of the Americas operations. Prince has been with the company since 1991 and has more than 23 years sales and management experience in the power-quality, protection and conversion marketplace.

OBITUARY

Arthur W. Delande, former president and chief executive officer of Delande Supply Co. Inc., Peabody, Mass., died April 3. He was 74 years old. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Louise Delande; four children; and nine grandchildren.
