Platt Electric Supply Inc. (Beaverton, Ore.): R.C. Noreen has been appointed vice president of the California region and will be based in Sacramento.

Platt Electric Supply Inc. (Beaverton, Ore.): R.C. Noreen has been appointed vice president of the California region and will be based in Sacramento. Noreen comes to California after 15 years with Platt, most recently serving as manager of the Olympia, Wash., branch.

Service Wire Co. (Culloden, W.V.): Seth Weisberg has been promoted to senior vice president of manufacturing. The 20-year company veteran most recently served as manager of the company's Houston and Glendale, Ariz., manufacturing and factory warehouse operations. Jay Jefferson was promoted to operations manager. With the company for 19 years, he previously served in computer operations and as assistant credit manager. Ron Gibson was promoted to corporate purchasing manager. With Service Wire since 1980, Gibson was most recently quality assurance supervisor.

Cooper Industries (Houston): Thomas Briggs has been promoted to the newly established position of vice president, sales and marketing, Cooper Connection. Briggs will coordinate the cross-divisional sales and marketing initiatives of Cooper's North American Electrical Products divisions in the Cooper Connection program. These divisions are Cooper Lighting, Cooper Crouse-Hinds, Cooper Bussmann, Cooper Wiring Devices, Cooper B-Line and Cooper Power Systems. Before being appointed to the new post, Briggs, who has 20 years of electrical industry experience, was division president of Cooper B-Line. Cooper Industries also appointed Grant Gawronski as vice president of manufacturing services; Kenneth Camarco as vice president, business systems; David Feldman as president, Cooper Lighting; and Terry Klebe as senior vice president and chief financial officer. Feldman replaces Fritz Zeck, who retired. David White Jr., formerly senior vice president, strategic planning and new venture development officer, retired after 31 years with the company. Klebe will assume responsibility for the company's strategic planning activities.

Leviton (Little Neck, N.Y.): David Buerer has been appointed associate product manager for the Lighting Control Division. Buerer previously worked as a senior design associate/network specialist for PLA Designs Inc. and as a senior consultant/owner of The Source.

Thomas & Betts Corp. (Memphis, Tenn.): The board of directors has elected Dominic J. Pileggi to the newly created position of president and chief operating officer for the company, effective Jan. 1. Pileggi currently serves as president of the company's electrical division. He will continue in this role until a successor is named.

FCI USA Inc. (Manchester, N.H.): In addition to his current position of senior vice president and general manager for FCI's Electrical Power Interconnect Division, John Burns was appointed president of FCI USA.

Pass & Seymour/Legrand (Syracuse, N.Y.): Sue Smith has been appointed vice president marketing. Smith joined the company in 1981 and has held several positions, most recently vice president sales, Southern Region.

WESCO International (Pittsburgh): Sandra Beach Lin and William J. Vareschi have been elected to the board of directors. Lin, president of Alcoa Closure Systems International, has 20 years of business experience in the specialty chemicals, medical products, and automotive components industries. Vareschi, currently chief executive officer for Central Parking Corp., spent more than 35 years of service with the General Electric Co. in numerous financial management positions.

Schneider Electric (Palatine, Ill.): David Petratis has been appointed to the newly created position of president and chief operating officer for the U.S. business of Schneider Electric. With more than 20 years in the electrical industry, Petrasis was most recently president of MGE Americas.
