Independent Electric Supply (San Carlos, Calif.): Bob Wittig has been appointed corporate information technology manager. Wittig has more than 20 years

Independent Electric Supply (San Carlos, Calif.): Bob Wittig has been appointed corporate information technology manager. Wittig has more than 20 years experience working with electrical distribution software helping distributors better utilize information processing technology. Prior to joining IES, Wittig worked with Tradepower Inc. as western region manager.

Ericson Manufacturing Co. (Willoughby, Ohio): Dan Ericson has been appointed regional sales manager-Northeast. Ericson previously worked in inside sales and as the mobile display unit driver. Jonathan Buchwald has joined the company as mobile display unit driver. The recent graduate will be driving the MDU to locations throughout the United States and Canada to exhibit Ericson products at end-user and distributor locations.

Westinghouse Lighting Corp. (Philadelphia): With more than 12 years of experience in the consumer products field, including nine years in sales and marketing with Philips Lighting Co., Patty Isabella joins Westinghouse as light bulb marketing manager.

Penn-Union Corp. (Edinboro, Pa.): Larry Evans has joined the company as regional sales manager, responsible for a territory covering the West and part of the Central United States.

Thomas & Betts Corp. (Memphis, Tenn.): Jeffrey Greene has joined the company as vice president of marketing for electrical products in the United States. Greene joins Thomas & Betts from Leviton Manufacturing Co., where he spent the last 13 years in several roles, most recently as product and marketing director, commercial, industrial and power quality divisions.

Universal Lighting Technologies (Nashville, Tenn.): Vance Christensen has been named regional sales manager of the Northwest region. Christensen was most recently senior salesman for Thomas & Betts.

System Sensor (St. Charles, Ill.): John Fitzgerald has been named vice president corporate communications. With more than 15 years of marketing and communication experience, Fitzgerald joined System Sensor in May 2000.

Electro-Federation Canada (EFC, Mississauga, Ontario): John Hanna, chief executive officer of Rexel Canada Electrical Inc., has joined the board of directors executive committee, filling the vacancy left by the resignation of EFC's vice-chair. Hanna assumes the role of secretary; Grant Buchanan, president of S&C Electric Canada Ltd., moves into the vice-chair position; and Carol McGlogan, vice president, marketing and distribution channels, Canlyte Inc., takes on the role of treasurer. Bob Brews, president, R.L. Brews Ltd. remains EFC's chair. Past chair is Paul Frew, vice president, government relations for Motorola Canada Ltd.

Schneider Electric (Palatine, Ill.): Chris Richardson, who retired last month as chairman, president and chief executive officer of the Schneider Electric North American operating division, has been appointed to the board of directors. Richardson had served as president and CEO since 1998.

OBITUARIES

Marvin R. Bochner, of electrical manufacturers representative firm Marvin Bochner Inc., Miami, died May 7. He was 72. Bochner founded the firm in 1962 and remained a vital part of the business and the electrical industry for 42 years. He was a founding member of the National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMRA).

William “Bill” T. Todd II, former president of Fairmont Supply Co., died June 15 at the age of 70. A leader in the industrial distribution industry, during his 30-year career Bill Todd pioneered many of the materials management strategies in place today. He served in leadership capacities in business associations such as Washington County Manufacturers Association, The Industrial Distributors Association, and served on the board of directors of the Washington County Council on Economic Development.
