Lutron Electronics opened new Customer Experience and Education Centers at its world headquarters in Coopersburg, Pa. Designed to give visitors a first-hand lighting control experience in a home-like or business setting, the Customer Experience Center is the company's third. Similar facilities exist in Sao Paolo, Brazil and Plantation, Fla. A fourth center is slated to open in Orange County, Calif., in 2007.

“Any homeowner or businessperson who is contemplating the purchase of a lighting control system should visit the Customer Experience Center,” says Kathie Leslie, director of employee relations and education. “Looking at product brochures and videos is great, but surrounding yourself with the product and experiencing it leaves nothing to the imagination.”

The new Customer Experience Center is a 4,000-square-foot facility that contains numerous vignettes to represent rooms in a home: kitchen, family room, foyer, master bedroom, master bathroom, patio, gallery and home theater. It shows a variety of Lutron products in action, from single-light dimmers, to whole-home lighting control and shading systems. The Coopersburg facility is designed to reflect the style of Northeast homes.

The Customer Education Center adjacent encompasses 10,000 square-feet of space and features four state-of-the-art classrooms, each large enough to host 120 people, and each featuring a different Lutron system. The Education Center will be global host to Lutron customers, including electrical contractors, residential systems providers, lighting showroom employees, architects, interior designers and window system providers. It also includes a café vignette, as well as lobby and office vignettes that showcase the capabilities of Lutron commercial lighting control solutions.

The first of its kind, the new Customer Education Center serves as the primary training facility for all Lutron customers, whether they are residentially- or commercially-focused.

Members of the trade are encouraged to bring their clients to the Experience Center to give them a full Lutron product overview. Appointments can be made by calling (610) 282.7341.
