The Charlotte Business Journal honored McNaughton-McKay Carolina Region as No. 2 in its “Best Place to Work in Charlotte” rankings for mid-sized businesses in Charlotte, N.C. At an annual awards luncheon held at the Charlotte Convention Center, 65 businesses were recognized.

Nominations for Best Places to Work in Charlotte were solicited in advertisements in the publication and on its website. Completed forms were sent to Quantum Market Research, which conducted a survey of each company.

The nomination criteria required companies to be in business for at least two years and have at least 10 employees. At each company employees filled out a survey. Each question was assigned a point value. The top-scoring companies were ranked in three categories — small businesses (10 to 49 employees), mid-sized companies (50 to 200 employees) and large companies (more than 200 employees).

“McNaughton-McKay is a very well-run organization,” said Chris Majni, the company's Carolina general manager. “As an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) company, we all contribute to our collective success.” The Charlotte office is one of 22 locations in five states for McNaughton-McKay which also has a location in Krefeld, Germany.
