Wright Line and PDI Announce Strategic Alliance

Power Distribution Inc. (PDI), Richmond, Va., a leading provider of power distribution equipment and services, and Wright Line, Worcester, Mass, a manufacturer of consoles, electronic and server enclosures and furniture for data and network operation centers, 911/dispatch centers, control rooms and other technology-intensive environments, has entered into a strategic alliance. The immediate result of the business alliance is a complete and cost-effective data center solution that brings power, cooling, cable management and security right to the rack level.

Based on Wright Line's premiere enclosure platform and PDI's innovative power solutions, Paramount…Powered by PDI seamlessly integrates power, cable management, environmental monitoring and thermal management in one enclosure platform. Prefabricated components allow, Paramount…Powered by PDI to be a highly customizable and flexible solution appropriate for data centers with few enclosures to those deploying equipment and enclosures numbering in the thousands.

“Our research in several Fortune 500 mission-critical facilities showed us that power, cooling, cable management and security need to be addressed at the rack rather than the room level. Non-uniform loads and equipment are becoming the standard, not the exception,” said Martin Olsen, Wright Line director of marketing.

Traditionally, the focus has been on room-level power and cooling overlooking critical issues including cable management and security. As new and more compact equipment is being deployed the need for scalable data center solutions that can easily be expanded or reconfigured is on the rise. Now more than ever it is also increasingly important for IT and facilities personnel to work together on these issues as the data center is driving more and more of the every day business operations.

The Paramount… Powered by PDI solution will be supported by Wright Line's direct sales force together with PDI's direct sales and technical professionals.
