Carlson Joins BSE as Human Resources Employee Relations Manager.
Border States Electric (BSE) (Fargo, N.D.): Kellie Carlson joined BSE as the new human resources employee relations manager. Prior to joining BSE, Carlson spent 10 years in the health care human resources field and has worked in human resources for nearly 20 years. She is originally from Fargo but was most recently the vice president of talent management at THA Group in Savannah, Ga.
Carlson holds a bachelor’s degree in human resources management from Concordia University, St. Paul, and will complete her master’s degree in organizational management in this year.
Carlson Retires at Southwire
Southwire (Carrollton, Ga.): Jack Carlson, the company’s president of North America, has decided to retire. He will serve in an advisory role to Southwire’s leadership team until May 31. Carlson began his career at Southwire in 2001 after more than 20 years of industry experience with leading companies such as Square D and Yale Security Group.
Omni Cable Hires Obetz as Executive V.P. of Sales and Marketing
Omni Cable (West Chester, Pa.): Jason Obetz was hired as the executive V.P. of sales and marketing. He has more than 20 years of industry experience, including his most recent position as V.P. of sales at All Current Electrical, Pennsauken, N.J. Obetz left All Current in late 2015 and has been consulting leading up to joining Omni Cable. He received his BS from Rutgers University and was a member of the University‘s 1989 NCAA Final Four Soccer Team and MAAC Ice Hockey Championship teams.
Electrotech's Mike Ellias Gets CSP with Distinction
ElectroTech (Minneapolis): Mike Ellias has received his CSP designation with distinction. CSP (Certified Sales Professional) training is held in multiple locations throughout the country per year and Ellias is one of more than 1,000 people to receive this certification. This training is designed to give salespeople a thorough understanding of consultative training and provide them with the necessary skills to become a top sales performer.
Crescent Electric Supply Announces Promotions
Crescent Electric Supply Co. (East Dubuque, Ill.): The company has appointed Debra McCashin to the role of energy solutions manager; In her new role, McCashin will manage a national team of energy business development managers and drive Crescent’s overall energy strategy. She will be responsible for developing business opportunities and selling energy solutions and services to senior level decision makers at end user accounts.
McCashin joined Crescent Electric’s National Account team in September, 2015 after serving as V.P. of sales for the Leff Electric Co.
Crescent Promotes Trumm to Sales Operations Manager
In Randi Trumm’s new role as sales operations manager, she will support strategic sales initiatives such as ongoing sales training, customer retention and promotion programs and continuous improvement activities and report to Darrin Anderson, senior vice president/COO. Prior to this promotion, she was regional financial operations manager for Crescent Electric’s Central Region.
Hauff Now Director of Inside Sales at Crescent Electric Supply
Before his promotion to director, corporate inside sales, Eric Hauff was industry marketing manager, and prior to that was a member of Crescent’s technical support center. He has been with the company since July, 2007.
Allied Promotes Schmidtke to Sales Rep
Allied Wire & Cable (Collegeville, Pa.): Eric Schmidtke and Julie Preiss have been promoted to sales representatives. Schmidtke started his wire and cable career in 2000 when he took on several roles in the company’s warehouse. He has also served as Allied’s Wisconsin warehouse manager and as a branch manager.

Before her promotion to sales rep, Julie Preiss works out of Allied Wire & Cable’s Tampa branch. She began her career with AWC in April 2015 as a sales assistant. Prior to joining the company, she worked in telecommunications sales for several years.
