LED fixture controlled by smartphones and tablets
Kim Lighting’s LightVault 8 uses high-speed Bluetooth technology to enable field aiming and dimming while offering control from an iPhone, Android or tablet. The solid brass fixture’s Bluetooth connectivity allows Kim Lighting to keep the LED light engine completely sealed from the ingress of water, dust, mud and debris. In addition to custom dimming and aiming using a Bluetooth-enabled iOS or Android device with Kim Lighting's LightVault 8 app, the light distribution can be customized using optional hex louvre, prism lens and spread lens filters.
The luminaire is available in spot, wall-wash and narrow flood in-grade applications; multiple color temperatures; up to 2,500 lumens output; and flat-lens, half-shield, eyeball, rock guard and directional marker-style housings. The LightVault®8 runs cool to touch (less than 40 degrees C) and the LEDs have a life in excess of 100,000-plus hours. To learn more or view demos of the mobile apps click here.

The fixtures come in 4-foot, 8-foot and 12-foot lengths and can be installed as individual units or joined together to form continuous runs. Staple LED luminaires deliver an expected 50,000 hours (12 to 15 years) of illumination to L80. They are IES LM-79 tested, CSA/CUS listed, FCC Part 15 certified and feature a Lighting Facts® label issued by the U.S. Department of Energy.
Linear LED replacement fixtures
Cree’s LS Series linear LED luminaire is designed to replace the hundreds of millions of fluorescent strip, wrap and industrial fixtures currently installed in North America. Designed in a slim, modern form factor with multiple mounting options and lumen packages, the new LS Series linear LED luminaire can reduce energy consumption by more than 25% and nearly eliminate costly maintenance expenses, a major concern for retail, education and industrial applications.
Offering surface, pendant, suspended and cove mounting options in four and eight-foot configurations, the LS Series linear LED luminaire provides flexible installation and easy end-user customization to accommodate nearly any application. The LS Series linear LED luminaire also reduces the “cave effect” commonly found in outdated fluorescent luminaires by providing a desirable 10% uplight.
Controlling wireless dimmers from a smartphone
The Lutron Smart Bridge Pro is a wireless bridge that connects Lutron’s Caseta Wireless dimmers, Picoremote controls, Serena remote-controlled shades, and third-party devices to a new Lutron app to provide home control from iOS and Android-based smart phones. The professionally-installed Lutron Smart Bridge Pro, embedded with Lutron’s powerful Clear Connect Wireless technology, plugs directly into a home’s Wi-Fi router and sends wireless, radio frequency (RF) communication signals to Caseta Wireless dimmers and Serena shades.
The Lutron Smart Bridge Pro is easily paired with the new Lutron app with the press of a button, allowing installers to setup a system in less than 30 minutes. The app can be used to dim lights just before the start of a movie, to turn lights on from the car when arriving home, to close shades from the office, or close shades and turn off lights from the airport – all from a smart phone.
LED edge-lit panels for commercial, retail and high-end residential applications
NSPEC's Edge-lit LED Panels provide lighting specifiers and designers with a balance of visible comfort and usable light. The NSPEC LED panel uses edge-lighting technology and an opalescent lens to produce a luminous glow without glare to create a balance between task and ambient light.
Edge-lit panels evenly illuminate the upper cavity unlike the spacial lighting void created by direct illumination LED models. Offered in 2x2 and 2x4 configurations with surface, pendant, and recessed mounting options, the NSPEC dimmable Edge-lit Panel is an interesting panel solution to energy efficient, even illumination in commercial and residential applications.
LEDs for high-bay applications
GE’s Albeo ABH2-Series and ABHG-Series LED Luminaires offer a modular lighting solution for retrofit and new construction of warehouses, manufacturing facilities, cold storage, sports arenas, convention centers and other commercial spaces with high ceilings. With greater foot-candle performance and a life rating of 100,000 hours at L70, the new LED lighting fixtures help to increase light levels while reducing lighting energy costs and associated maintenance. Both LED lighting fixtures can replace a range of legacy high bay lighting systems — 250W to 1,500W high-intensity discharge (HID) and four- to eight-lamp T5/T8 high-intensity fluorescent lighting, which typically burn out after 20,000-30,000 hours. They can be paired with motion, daylight and wireless controls for even greater energy savings and lower maintenance costs.
LED lamps for chandeliers
Halco Lighting Technologies’ ProLED Decorative Chandelier series lamps provide the look and feel of traditional Incandescent Torpedo and Flame Tip lamps while providing the benefits of a LED lamp. The “Heat-to-Base” design allows heat to be dissipated through the base of the lamp minimizing the need for a visible heat sink. This design allows for LED technology in a traditional B10 Torpedo or CA10 Flame Tip shapes providing a more appealing, natural look.
ProLED Decorative Chandelier lamps' 2,400K or 2,700K color temperatures help create an environment where a warm aesthetic and inviting ambiance is desired. The specially designed light tower mimics the light distribution of a standard Incandescent lamp providing warm, soft and even illumination. The lamp have a 25,000-hour life and are backed by a five-year limited warranty.
