Steiner Electric buys Wisconsin's State Electrical Supply

Nov. 11, 2013
The acquisition will help Steiner Electric service the southern Wisconsin market.

Steiner Electric Co., Elk Grove, Ill., announced plans to purchase select assets of State Electrical Supply, Janesville Wis. Steiner will continue servicing State’s customers as the company’s founder Ellen Ramberg transitions into retirement. “After nearly 60 years, Ellen is thrilled that State has found a new home with the Steiner family,” said Dennis Ramberg, the founder’s son.

During this transition, State will be selling their current location, and liquidating inventory and other miscellaneous assets. Calls and new orders will be forwarded to Steiner’s Rockford location effective Nov. 8. Jeff Izenstark, Steiner Electric’s executive V.P., said, “We’ve earned a strong market position servicing the southern Wisconsin market for over 30 years through our Rockford location. Dick Watson, Steiner V.P. of branch operations will be evaluating our options for our new Wisconsin location. State Electrical Supply, a division of Steiner, gives us the opportunity to officially establish a Wisconsin warehouse and counter operation to support industrial, OEM and contractor customers within the Madison, Janesville and surrounding markets.”
