This year's Upper Midwest Electrical Expo in Minneapolis, billed as the largest electrical trade show in North America, was an unqualified success, drawing more than 10,000 attendees over the two-day event last month. The event sold out the exhibit floor with 348 booths where 400 electrical manufacturers displayed their wares. Thirty-six electrical distributors brought busloads of customers and employees to catch up on the latest electrical products. The event set a record for room nights at the Minneapolis Hilton & Marquette hotels with 718 rooms booked. The biennial event will return to Minneapolis on April 14-15, 2010.

Four new product awards were handed out at the Expo, based on voting by attendees:

360 Electrical's new rotating duplex outlet.

Best Tools/Testers

Rack-A-Tiers' new 1/2 inch EMT bender.

Best Lighting

Osram Sylvania's new micro-mini 13W, 20W & 23W electronic compact fluorescent lamps.
