Landisi Electrical Consultants LLP, Celebration, Fla., has launched a Security Awareness division. Ron Landisi, president, said his company is launching the new business because of the need for security planning in the corporate world.

“We all know security awareness today is much different from security of a year ago,” he said. “It's changed drastically. Today, security means educating every employee from the receptionist to the highest executive. I believe it's an absolute necessity.”

The company has already developed a security awareness program for Con Edison in New York. The program includes management of an awareness program on security issues for employees, and includes information on the following topics:

  • Security tips for the home, vacations and workplace

  • Safe commuting

  • Keeping children safe

  • How to react when confronted by a criminal

Every two weeks, employees will receive mailings on these topics. At the end of the 12-week information campaign, employees attend seminars taught be Landisi Electrical Consultants' two on-staff security experts. John McDougall taught law enforcement at the Florida Police Academy and appeared on NBC's “Today” show twice to discuss security issues. Barbara Taylor has 25 years of experience as professional instructors.
