The National Association of Electrical Distributors (NAED), St. Louis, announced a $100,000 contribution by Kirby Risk Electrical Supply, Lafayette, Ind., to the NAED Education & Research Foundation in memory of the company's founder, J. Kirby Risk. According to his son, CEO Jim Risk, Kirby Risk “had a love affair with NAED and was one of its greatest cheerleaders.”

The pledge will support the Foundation's “Channel Advantage Partnership” endowment, which funds projects to strengthen the quality and performance of electrical distribution.

“A distributor's greatest asset is its team of employees…and their continued education and training are critical to future success. The NAED Education & Research Foundation plays a vital role in providing the necessary resources for people development. Contributions to the Foundation are important investments for our industry's future,” says Jim Risk.

Kirby Risk's donation will become part of an endowment fund for the NAED Education & Research Foundation. The principal amount of the endowment will remain untouched, while the interest will be used to commission future projects and studies. As a $100,000 contributor, Kirby Risk will be recognized at the governor level and have a permanent position on the Channel Advantage Partnership Council, which will help select future educational programs and research projects.
