Annette Clayton - Schneider's President and CEO
Schneider Electric (Andover, Mass.): Annette Clayton is Schneider’s new president and chief executive officer, North America Operations. Clayton will continue to serve as the group’s chief supply chain officer leading the Global Supply Chain organization, a position she has held since joining Schneider in 2011. In her dual capacity, Clayton will remain a member of Schneider Electric’s executive committee.
She replaces Laurent Vernerey, who has led the North America region for the last three years and concludes a 30-year career at Schneider Electric. Before joining Schneider Electric in 2011, Clayton was vice president of global operations at Dell for five years. She also spent 23 years at General Motors, in various roles, including president of Saturn Corp.
Doug Schuster Appointed Global Leader of T&B
Thomas & Betts/ABB (Memphis, Tenn.): ABB appointed Doug Schuster global leader of Thomas & Betts. He joins ABB from Eaton Corp., where he led its Critical Power Solutions division globally. He will be based in Memphis, ABB’s Electrification Products division Americas headquarters. With more than 30 years’ experience in the electrical engineering industry, Schuster will be charged with growing the electrical installation arm of ABB, both in the U.S. and internationally.
Schuster held a number of senior roles at Eaton over the last 11 years. He started his career in the electrical industry with Westinghouse’s electrical business, which Eaton acquired in 1994. He then performed leadership roles in business strategy and marketing consultancy firms before joining Eaton in 2005. He has a degree in industrial engineering from North Carolina State University.
Bruce Penas of Border States
Border States Electric (BSE), Fargo, N.D.: The company promoted Bruce Penas to market director – Industrial.
In his new position, Penas is responsible for the development of BSE’s industrial sales and marketing strategy. Penas will also develop BSE’s annual sales and marketing plan, manage relationships with key vendor partners and negotiate supplier agreements and vendor programs. He currently serves on a number of vendor distributor advisory boards and is a network delegate to Affiliated Distributors.
Encore Wire Corp. (McKinney, Texas): Daniel Jones, Encore Wire’s chairman, president & CEO, was presented the 2016 Mordica Memorial Award on June 8 at this year’s WAI Operations Summit & Wire Expo (Wire Association International).
The Mordica Memorial Award is given as a tribute to the Wire Association International’s founding president John Mordica to honor an individual who has made contributions to the wire industry’s base through research, development, innovation, or other technical pursuits. In part with his award acceptance, Jones presented on “The Encore Wire Formula — A Culture of Innovation and Collaboration” during a luncheon held on June 8.
Irby Executive Moves
Irby/Sonepar (Jackson, Miss.):Tyler Mitchell, the current V.P. of sales for Codale Electric (in photo), will be taking on a new role as senior V.P. of C&I Sales for Irby. He has spent seven years in various roles at Codale Electric in Salt Lake City, and has been the V.P. of Sales for the past three years.
In other recent news at Irby, Mike Leech will be taking over the role of president of Irby, following the announcement of Mike Wigton’s retirement, He has been an officer and V.P. of Irby for the past 18 years, and has been with the company for 34 years in total.
Jonathan Axtman of Border States
Border States Electric (BSE): (Fargo, N.D.): BSE hired Jonathan Axtman is now digital strategy manager and is leading BSE's efforts to better serve customers online. Originally from Minot, N.D., Axtman is a 1990 graduate of Minnesota State University Moorhead. Prior to joining BSE, he was the director of digital operations for Microsoft within the Dynamics business group.
Marandino Promoted at NorthEast Electrical Distributors
NorthEast Electrical Distributors (Brockton, Massachusetts): Frank Marandino, current COO of NorthEast, will be taking on a new role as president of the company. He has spent over 15 years in various leadership roles at NorthEast, and has served as the COO for the past 20 months.
Don Block, who has served as president of NorthEast for the past 11 years, will continue in his role as president of Sonepar USA’s New England-Mid Atlantic region.
Dan Dreher of Appleton
Appleton Group/Emerson (Rosemont, Ill.): Dane Dreher has assumed new responsibilities as V.P. of Appleton Canada and will lead day-to-day operations, reporting directing to Appleton Group President Russ Kerstetter. Since joining Emerson in 1996, Dreher has held numerous positions in customer support, manufacturing and inventory management. In 2007, he was named director of operations for Appleton Group.
He replaces Harish Shinde, who was recently promoted to V.P. of strategy and customer care for Appleton Group’s global operations.
Bruce Kenison of G&G LED
G&G LED (Albany, N.Y.): Bruce Kenison has been named national sales director for this manufacturer of wet location lighting. He is responsible for continuing the company’s growth in the car wash, food processing and manufacturing industries, while expanding relationships and creating new business opportunities within the transportation, agricultural, warehousing and facilities management marketplaces. Prior to joining G&G, Kenison served as national sales manager at Cast Lighting in Hawthorne, N.J. Under his tenure, Cast Lighting increased sales from $0 to more than $10 million in just five years. Kenison holds a Bachelor’s degree in management & entrepreneurship from Pace University.
Wolf Moving Up at Omni Cable in Denver
Omni Cable (West Chester, Pa.): Omni Cable recently announced the promotion of Justin Wolf to Denver regional manager where he will be responsible for the strategic growth and development of the company’s Rocky Mountain Region. Wolf joined Omni Cable as an account manager in 2010. Prior to his promotion, he served as sales manager for the Denver branch. He earned his bachelor’s degree in industrial distribution from Texas A&M University and a master’s degree from the University of Denver.
