The BTCGC250 cable tray clamp easily bonds the ground conductor to the cable tray without drilling or punching holes, providing grounding continuity for the whole system. Accommodating conductor from #6 AWG through 250 kcmil, these aluminum tin-plated clamps are easy to install and provide durable long-lasting corrosion resistance along with high pull out strength and vibration resistance. The BTCGC250 clamp accommodates the most popular styles of cable tray that utilize an outside or inside flange.
Carlo Gavazzi’s new compact, 45mm wide RSGD Series Soft Starter is designed for 3-phase induction AC motors, and just need three settings. The self-learning algorithm adjusts the soft starter parameters to work with different applications and varying load conditions. It's active at every start to ensure that the motor always starts with the optimal settings. It conforms to global standard UL508 and IEC/EN/60947-4-2 and can be used worldwide for control of pumps, fans, and compressors in markets such as Water Treatment, Agriculture, Building Automation and HVAC.
Bending and Threading Workstation
Greenlee’s Workhorse, a versatile all-in-one bending and threading workstation, allows the operator to eliminate wasted time spent moving between work areas. Designed for quick-and-easy mobility, the Workhorse Bending and Threading Station can be transported with a bender and threader mounted from one location to another, eliminating need for set up.
The Workhorse Bending and Threading is designed with forklift pockets on three sides and includes eight-inch casters to increase maneuverability across the jobsite. The built-in conduit pipe support used in conjunction with the bend tray checker allows for quick and easy checking of 90-degree bends and conduit measurements. Locked storage space can hold bending shoes, bender and threader accessories as well as other tools or materials required to complete the job.
Cable Tray for VDV Applications
Legrand’s Cablofil Universal "Hang On" Drop Out (UDO) is designed for high-capacity data centers. The UDO does not require any cutting or modifications to the existing wire mesh tray and features a 120-degree bend to ensure cables do not have any potential pinch points or kinks. This will benefit data centers that are challenged with managing the expansive lengths of heavy overhead cabling necessary to meet consumer demand for faster data download, streaming and transfer speeds.
Data centers are also increasingly using fiber-optic cables. If fiber is bent at too sharp of an angle, performance can be hampered or the cables can even break. The smooth bend of the UDO is optimal for fiber optic, and the product also supports copper and Power over Ethernet (PoE) cabling.
“Trends like cloud computing, online video and mobile technology have led to higher capacity data centers that are fitting more cables into their spaces,” said Bob Crain, director of marketing and product development for the Cablofil product line at Legrand. “Trays are full and data centers are looking for a new way to drop cables without compromising performance.”
Lutron expanded its HomeWorks QS system with a new Palladiom-style thermostat. This addition allows designers and dealers to provide their clients with an understated, elegant aesthetic throughout the home by coordinating the thermostat with Palladiom keypads and accessories. The Palladiom thermostat features buttons and faceplates made of the same material – plastic, glass or metal – for a coordinated aesthetic. It has large, tactile buttons with backlit, engraved text are simple to operate and easy to find in a darkened room and animated heating and cooling icons on the LED display indicate when the system is running. Its remote temperature sensors allow the thermostat to be mounted on exterior walls, near entryways, or on walls that receive direct sunlight so temperature is not affected by weather or lighting conditions.
Personal Lighting Products
Milwaukee tool has expanded its Lighting Solutions product offering with the introduction of a new family of personal lighting product that includes a 700L Flashlight, Hard Hat Headlamp, and Pocket Flood Light. They are all rechargeable and powered by REDLITHIUM USB which gives users all day runtime.
Backup Battery for UPS Systems
Contact’s TRIO 750 VA-AC UPS is a UL-listed AC-UPS battery backup solution for applications that need to minimize cabinet space. It provides 600W of power from the integrated 3.4 Ah valve-regulated lead-acid (VRLA) battery. Common AC-UPS solutions are large, cumbersome, and difficult when it comes to battery maintenance.
The TRIO AC-UPS features a battery that allows for easy replacement even while UPS is in mains mode. This hot-swap capability eliminates the need to shut down the entire system for a battery replacement. The TRIO AC-UPS also provides remote diagnostics via mini-USB cable in regards to the condition of the battery backup system.
Ethernet Speed Certifier
Tools’ Net Chaser Ethernet Speed Certifier and Network Tester is designed to offer a complete solution to test and speed certify the data-carrying capabilities of Ethernet network cables up to 1 Gb/s by testing for noise in the network, detecting faults in the cable wiring, and ensuring that cables are able to support the speed capabilities of active equipment.
Jason Chesla, marketing manager, Platinum Tools Inc., says the Net Chaser’s advanced discovery is intended to give the clearest vision of network layout and interfaces between active components such as servers, switches, routers, etc. All the information is collected, stored, and ready for reporting Ethernet speed certification (Speed Certification to IEEE standards 802.3ab; Cable testing to TIA568A/B).
IP20 and IP67 IO-Link Master Modules
new IO-Link Master modules – IP20 and IP67 IO-Link Master modules use the IO-Link open standard (IEC 61131-9) serial communication protocol to connect and communicate data to and from sensors and actuators. This increased transparency down to the sensor-actuator level helps improve diagnostics and efficiency, increase machine availability, and reduce downtime. Weidmuller’s IP20 and IP67 IO-Link Master modules feature simple, user-friendly web-based configuration and monitoring. This allows users to change parameters using the web server, and provides for both on-site and remote testing and diagnostics without the need for additional software.
The new Wire-Basket Quick-Latch is designed to reduce labor in the field. Though the typical Cope Wire Basket design comes with a pre-attached splice plate, multiple field cuts or manufacturing fittings can leave perfectly usable pieces of Wire Basket without any splice bar. Using the Quick-Latch allows installers to utilize these pieces and eliminate cost, labor, and time when splicing these parts together.
The Quick-Latch is UL approved as a grounding path with use of the CAT-GCs on either side of the splice, if the cable tray is being used as an EGC. Though applicable to any wire basket application, the Quick-Latch is particularly useful in data centers and rooftop applications.
