Hendrix Molded Products has introduced a new recycling program for the return and recycling of its HPI polyethylene insulator products. The HPI insulators are made with high-density polyethylene, the #2 recyclable plastic used for milk jugs and such.
Hendrix developed its HPI insulators for both bare wire and covered conductors to offer an alternative to porcelain insulators, which are susceptible to vandalism and can be problematic when paired with covered overhead conductors, the company said. Polyethylene insulators are impervious to impact damage and breakage, offer longer leakage distance and higher impulse strength and can withstand ultraviolet rays and chipping and cracking.
In other news, Hendrix Molded Products has completed its relocation to new facilities in Amherst, N.H. Approximately seven miles from their former location in Milford, N.H., the new 54,000-square foot-facility more than triples production space and allows ample room to grow moving forward.
