Cooper Bussmann, St. Louis, Mo., introduced a new Overcurrent Device Recycling Program, which offers a responsible alternative for the disposal of any brand of fuse, circuit breaker and electrical contactor. The program is simple to coordinate from any distributor branch location and provides participants with numerous benefits and promotional opportunities that will ultimately help to improve their bottom line, Bussmann says.
In the program, Cooper Bussmann supplies participating distributors with a recycling box to place in a prominent area on their showroom counter. Once the box is filled with any brand of fuses, circuit breakers or electrical contactors, the participating branch can seal the top of the box using a pre-applied adhesive strip, print its return address on the pre-paid, pre-addressed shipping label, and add it to its daily UPS pick-up. A replacement recycling box is automatically sent by Cooper Bussmann to the participating branch location.
Not only does the new recycling program promote environmental awareness, it can also have a real impact on the bottom line by giving customers a reason to visit their local branch more often, the company says. The advantage of being a pioneer in environmental responsibility will have enormous benefits going forward as well.
To participate in the Cooper Bussmann Overcurrent Device Recycling Program, distributors agree to fund the program for all their branches with a one-time investment of $45 per branch (Marketing Activity Funds), and to communicate the program and corporate commitments to all branches.
