S&J Lighting, Louisville, Ky., and its customer Shelby County Schools, won MaxLite's “Tri-Season Gondola Customer Appreciation Sweepstakes,” the lighting manufacturer's second sweepstakes held in 2011. S&J Lighting and Shelby County Schools each received a 40-inch Samsung LCD HDTV.

“Winning the MaxLite's Gondola Sweepstakes was a very pleasant surprise for our customer and us,” said Dan Ryan of S&J Lighting. “The display program and MaxLite's MaxLED line of energy-efficient lighting has been very well received by our customers. MaxLite products are par excellence and the company has designed successful retail marketing strategies to match.”

The program, which began June 1, 2011, encouraged MaxLite distributors to use gondola racks for displaying MaxLite fixtures and lamps. Each gondola included a sweepstakes entry box, two free demonstration fixtures, a four-color header featuring the MaxLite brand, and wheels for easy merchandising and relocation throughout retail aisles. The freestanding merchandiser is constructed with four shelves and two literature racks that are stocked with sales materials. When a customer purchased a MaxLite product from the gondola rack in a distributor's store, the dealer and the customer each filled out one entry form to win a TV.
