Rivian is the latest EV manufacturer to announce that drivers of its EVs will be able to access Tesla’s Supercharger network across the United States and Canada. Ford and General Motors have also announced over the past month that their vehicles would be able to charge at Tesla’s network of 12,000 SuperChargers, which are generally considered be the fastest and most reliable public EV charging stations.
An adapter will be available to enable Rivian's R1T and R1S to charge on the Supercharger network as early as spring 2024. Rivian will incorporate North American Charging Standard (NACS) charge ports as standard in future R1 vehicles starting in 2025, as well as in its upcoming R2 platform.

Tesla’s stock is up +40% since late May, when Ford announced it would be supporting the NACS standard and that its EVs could be charged at the SuperCharger stations. Stellantis, which manufactures brands including Chrysler, Jeep, Ram, Alfa Romeo, Fiat, Maserati and Peugeot, is also reportedly considering going with the NACS standard so their EVs could be charged by Tesla SuperChargers.
