Graybar recently collected more than 66,000 books to benefit needy charities and libraries in the communities where it operates nationwide. Graybar employees, customers and manufacturers participated in the national book drive that served as a preview to the company's national training conference held in September in Dallas.

At the conference, Graybar employees and manufacturer representatives banded together again for charity where they assembled 21 solar cars, filled 76 backpacks with school supplies and put together 38 military care packages. The KIPP School in Dallas received the solar cars and corresponding science curriculum while Teach for America received the backpacks. Finally, the military care packages were donated to the USO. All of the donations were presented to members from each organization, including active-duty soldiers, during a ceremony at the conference.

“All of these activities demonstrate Graybar's commitment to making a difference in the communities where we do business,” said Kathy Mazzarella, Graybar's executive V.P. and COO. “We thank our employees, customers and manufacturers for helping us give back.”
