A-Z Industries Opens in Phoenix

A-Z Industries, a wire and cable specialist based in Northbrook, Ill., opened its third major warehouse facility in Phoenix. The company also has warehouses in the Chicago and Houston areas. The Phoenix facility expands A-Z Industries' coverage to include Arizona, New Mexico, Nevada and California.

“We will now be able to provide immediate delivery from a major stocking location to our customers located in the southwest region of the U.S.,” says President Jim Anixter. “We will be able to provide overnight delivery to all of the state surrounding Arizona.”

A-Z is bringing talent from across the country to launch the new location, including Phil Buhler, outside sales manager, who opened the company's sales office last year; Jon Worthington, director of inside sales, formerly of One-Source Wire and Cable in Florida; and Icie Jones, warehouse operations manager, from the company's Houston location.

Hagemeyer Holds Grand Opening in Salisbury, Md.

Hagemeyer, Charleston, S.C., gave away a Honda ATV at the grand opening celebration of its new Salisbury, Md., location in July.

“We are very excited about the renovation and relocation of our Salisbury facility,” says Chris Union, executive V.P., Contractor and Installer segment. “We have a well established business in Salisbury and this investment is another step in further improving our leadership position.”

More than 20 supplier representatives were on hand to demonstrate new products. Customers got an opportunity to see the latest technologies in installation tools, labor saving devices and green products while enjoying a catered meal and music via a live radio remote.

The new facility features a 6,000 square-foot product display and customer counter area and a large warehouse stocking thousands of products. Hagemeyer operates more than 300 locations across the United States.

Capital Lighting & Supply Opens in Upper Marlboro

Capital Lighting & Supply, a subsidiary of Sonepar USA, has extended its operations with a new branch in Upper Marlboro, Md. The branch is located at the company's new central distribution center and headquarters.

The branch has onsite access to 20,000 products through the distribution center. George Dove, branch manager for the new location, comes to CLS with over 18 years experience in the electrical industry within the D.C. and Baltimore markets. His experience covers contractor material sales, residential and commercial lighting, switchgear and motor controls. Dove's counter sales team includes Frederick Eshun and Scott Wainer. All combined they offer 28 years of electrical sales and service.

WinWholesale Opens Winlectric in Stillwater

WinWholesale Inc., Dayton, Ohio, has opened Stillwater Winlectric in Stillwater, Okla., to provide residential and commercial contractors in the Payne County area with electrical equipment, parts and accessories. The new locally operated company provides counter sales and delivery service, and carries products such as Cutler Hammer panels and breakers, Pass & Seymour devices, Progress lighting and Ideal supplies.

Rick Martinez, president of Stillwater Winlectric, joined WinWholesale in 1997 and previously was president of Bentonville Winlectric in Arkansas, which he started in 2004.

“Rick's a great example of what we call the ‘spirit of opportunity’ in action,” said Monte Salsman, WinWholesale chief operating officer. “He's been successful in other Win local companies, and has now started his second company. He learned the business from the ground up, and customers can count on him and Stillwater Winlectric to deliver.”

Stillwater Winlectric is the second Winlectric company to open in 2008 and the 10th Win company this year, including other openings in Winnelson, Winair and Winsupply. There are 471 local Win companies in 44 states and 104 Noland locations, mainly in the Southeast. Noland is a wholly owned subsidiary.
