AD Electrical Divisions deal awards at North American meeting

Buying and marketing group Affiliated Distributors (AD), Wayne, Pa., hosted its annual Electrical Divisions’ North American Meeting on October 6-9 at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center in National Harbor, Md. AD said the annual conference broke all previous attendance records with over 950 attendees, including more than 100 first-time attendees, many of whom represented new AD Canada affiliates and suppliers.

AD’s annual event includes its “Spirit of Independence” Awards Banquet, where AD recognizes and honors distributors and suppliers who achieved outstanding performance during the previous calendar year.  Among the highlights:

• Supplier of the Year, Marketing Excellence: Philips Lighting Co., Somerset, N.J.

• Supplier of the Year, Performance: Heritage Plastics, Carrollton, Ohio

• U.S. Affiliate of the Year, Performance: Green Mountain Electric Supply, Newport, Vt.

• Supplier of the Year, Leadership: John Hoffman, executive vice president of sales and marketing, Legrand, Solvay, N.Y.

• U.S. Affiliate of the Year, Leadership: John Burke, president & COO, Kirby Risk Electrical Supply, Lafayette, Ind.

• AD MVP: Thea Copeland, marketing manager, Buckles-Smith, San Jose, Calif.

• Best Annual Planning Process: Electrical Engineering & Equipment Co., Windsor Heights, Iowa

• Best Conversion to an AD Supplier: Kendall Electric, Portage, Mich., and Hubbell Lighting, Greenville, S.C.

• Clean Energy Affiliate of the Year: McNaughton-McKay Electric Co., Madison Heights, Mich.

• Clean Energy Supplier of the Year: Scout Solar, Tempe, Ariz.
