Colonial Electric Supply, King of Prussia, Pa., made a substantial donation to the Southwest Community Development Corp. (Southwest CDC) of Philadelphia. The donation will fund programs such as the New Start Family Resource Center, Self Sufficiency programs, Community Development, and Economic Development.

During the holiday season, three of Colonial Electric's partners presented a donation of $85,000 to the Southwest CDC. “The importance of giving back to the community has always been a focus of Colonial's.,” said Peter Bellwoar, executive V.P., sales. “With the numerous programs Southwest CDC offers, it was an easy decision. Many of our employees are from the neighborhoods of Philadelphia, so my partners and I felt that it was a good fit for us and is in line with our company's mission and vision for the future.” In 2013, Colonial will be working with the Southwest CDC to collaborate on their various fundraising, volunteer and community outreach programs.
