The Reading Phillies, the AA affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies, recently hosted the Second Annual “Go Green” Night attheir game against the Binghamton Mets. Based on the success in 2011, Fromm Electric Supply, Reading, Pa., sponsored this event and again supplied the players with exclusive MLB-approved green jerseys. Along with Hubbell Lighting, Lutron, Philips-Advance and Sylvania, Fromm used the evening to promote energy efficiency to the 8,500-plus fans in attendance, including more than 200 customers that Fromm invited.

A trade show was held at Fromm as a pre-game activity. Commercials on the video scoreboard, public address announcements, on-field promotional activities and a radio interview during the play-by-play were just some of the methods used to deliver the “Go-Green” message. One of Fromm's inside sales associates, Bob Moratelli, highlighted the evening with a soulful rendition of the National Anthem.

“Fromm looks at the ‘Go-Green’ campaign similarly to a public service announcement, which means we must broaden our audience, since this goes way beyond our traditional customer segments,” said Lou Fromm, Fromm's V.P. of marketing. “The baseball game was a great opportunity to do that, and the green jerseys were a hit again.”

The jerseys were raffled off at the end of the night with proceeds of more than $2,000 going to the Berks Conservancy, the area's leading non-profit advocacy group for conservation of the environment.
