Nora Lighting held a service at its headquarters in Commerce, Calif., on Sept. 11 to honor the 3,000 Americans killed on that day in the 2001 terrorist attacks. During the company event, Nora staff also paid tribute to American servicemen and women on active duty in troubled areas around the world. The service was led by Fred Farzan, president of Nora Lighting, and Jilla Farzan, executive vice president, and was attended by more than 100 team members, one of whom lost a family member in the 2001 Twin Towers attack.
In recognition of the Day of Remembrance, the Nora Lighting staff donated $1,000 toward the construction of the public plaza and gardens at the National 9/11 Memorial, located at the site of the former World Trade Center in Manhattan.
“We will never forget the enormity of the tragic events of 9/11 and how fortunate we are to be citizens in a free country,” said Fred Farzan. “Many members of Nora's staff came to the United States to pursue dreams of a better life for themselves and their children. On this Day of Remembrance it is fitting to reflect on those who lost their lives on 9/11 and on those who now serve our country in dangerous places.”
