Nu-Lite Electrical Wholesalers, New Orleans, has been on a campaign to raise charitable donations to help rebuild its home city. The distributor announced recently that it has added to the charities it will support, adopting the Fore!Kids Foundation's Katrina Fund Charities into its “Energize New Orleans” program.

“As we continue our charity program and strive to achieve our goal of raising more than $200,000, Nu-Lite welcomes the addition of the Fore!Kids Foundation's Katrina Fund Charities to our Energizing New Orleans program,” said Gary Corales, Nu-Lite vice president. “The Fore!Kids Foundation works with a number of needy organizations including Kingsley House, Jefferson Community College and Catholic Charities. Each organization has tremendous needs. We are pleased to be working with these local charities to aid our community.”

The Fore!Kids Foundation joins New Orleans Children's Hospital as charitable institutions that Nu-Lite supports through the program. Children's Hospital is Louisiana's only full-service hospital exclusively for children, offering a full range of inpatient and outpatient care. The Fore!Kids Foundation is a group of men and women dedicated to raising funds for children's charities. As a 501c3 corporation, Fore!Kids generates funds by producing golf-related events to support activities and programs benefiting youth. Proceeds from the Zurich Classic of New Orleans, Louisiana's only PGA Tour event, will benefit numerous children's charities, adding to the nearly $13 million Fore!Kids has generated for local and regional children's charities.

Nu-Lite has partnered with many of its manufacturers to create the “Energizing New Orleans” program, aimed at generating donations to helping New Orleans' charities and institutions. Nu-Lite planned to raise more than $200,000 from customer donations and purchases of participating manufacturers' products between July 26 and Dec. 25, 2006.

Manufacturers supporting New Orleans and Nu-Lite in this campaign included Square D, Encore Wire, Philips Lighting, Lithonia Lighting, Western Tube, Leviton Manufacturing, Ideal Industries, EGS/Appleton, FCI Burndy, Ferraz Shawmut, Lutron, Advance Transformer and Bridgeport Fittings.
