Ripley opens sales office in China; transitions Clauss brand to Miller brand
Ripley Co., Cromwell, Conn., will transition the Clauss brand of tools to its Miller brand name by January 2007. In 2004, Ripley acquired the fiber optic, electronics and telecommunication product lines of Clauss brand tools. Because Ripley's Miller brand of tools continues to serve the same markets, Ripley will incorporate all Clauss branded tools under the Miller brand and eliminate any further use of the Clauss brand name.
This is a brand change only. No tools will be removed from the product line. For ordering purposes, all part numbers and descriptions will remain unchanged. The No-Nik sub-brand will continue in use unchanged.
Meanwhile, the manufacturer of cable-preparation tools is opening a sales office in Shanghai, China, in a move to position itself for the tremendous infrastructure growth occurring in China.
“With such rapid market growth and the increasing requirement for local support, it was obvious we needed to expand our presence in China,” said Tom Lindenmuth, Ripley's vice president and general manager. “We were very fortunate to find some exceptional people, and we look forward to the increased support they will provide to our OEM and distributor partners as they grow their businesses.”
