Press release publication
EW’s editors edit press releases to magazine style and appropriate length.
New product items. We typically edit down new product items to 100 words or less and try to include any information that will help a distributor stock and sell that product. We don’t publish new product items without photos, so be sure to send along a digital high-res (300 dpi or better) color photo. We will consider submitted new products for our monthly Top Product Pick galleries that appear on www.ewweb.com.
New hires, promotions & industry events. EW’s editors typically edit down personnel news items to 100 words or less. If you are sending along group shots of employees, vendors or customers at company or industry events, please identify everyone in the photo so we can include a caption for the photo.
Speaking Out column
EW’s “Speaking Out” column is an editorial opportunity for electrical distributors, manufacturers, independent reps, service companies and other electrical professionals to express their views on industry challenges, new market opportunities and other issues of industry-wide interest. Submissions for “Speaking Out” should be less than 1,000 words and include a digital high-res (300 dpi or better) color photo of the author, and a brief bio with contact information.
"Speaking Out" is not the place to promote your company or its products and services, and EW’s editors will edit out any direct references to them before publication. Before submitting an article for “Speaking Out,” please contact Jim Lucy, EW’s editor-in-chief at [email protected] to discuss the concept for the article.
Here are some examples of good "Speaking Out" columns:
- The Value of Saying "No"
- Filling the Skills Gap for the Technical Trades
- Mega-Agencies vs. Smaller Reps
